In a product demo, the viewer needs to follow the action and read small controls. Pro Screen stores zooms as editable blocks on the timeline. You can add one manually or review suggestions based on the cursor and click data available in the take.
What this demonstration shows
The clip opens on a selected zoom block. Changing Zoom level enlarges the source in the preview; reducing it brings the wider frame back. It demonstrates manual adjustment, not a test of automatic click detection.
Automatic suggestions versus manual zoom
Automatic suggestions depend on what was captured. When click tracking is available, click information can guide suggested zooms. Without it, the app may use motion-based suggestions. Window and phone captures do not necessarily provide the same cursor data as native cursor-free desktop capture.
Suggestions are a first pass, not a finished edit. Remove unnecessary moves and adjust anything that points away from the subject. Use manual zoom when the viewer needs to read something that does not coincide with a click.
Set up a useful zoom
- Place the playhead at the start of the detail you want to show.
- Press Z or choose Zoom on the timeline toolbar.
- Select the block and adjust Zoom level and Focus X/Focus Y.
- Set the block’s duration and ease-in/ease-out time.
- Play through the entrance, hold, and exit. Check that the content stays inside the frame.
Keep text sharp enough to read
Record the largest practical source at its intended resolution. Enlarging a low-resolution capture cannot create new detail, even if the export is 4K. Use the smallest zoom that makes the subject readable. Inspect an exported sample, not only the scaled editor preview.
Where zoom helps—and where it does not
A zoom can help with a small menu item, a field entry, or an important result. A rapid move on every click can make the explanation harder to follow. Hold a steady view for reading and use an annotation when a label explains more clearly than another camera move.
