Highlight an area with Spotlight
Direct attention to one part of a recording.
These guides cover the development build shown on this site. Some controls may differ in the published installer. Check your version in Settings and the download notes.
Add and position
Open Annotate and choose Spotlight at the relevant playhead position. Select it in the preview or timeline, move it over the subject, and adjust its size.
Choose the appearance
Dim outside darkens surrounding content; Glow inside emphasizes the selected area. Use the setting that keeps the subject readable.
Timing and tracking
Adjust Start and Length. If you use Follow the cursor, check that the take has a usable cursor track and that the spotlight follows the intended subject throughout.
Not a privacy mask
Dimming leaves information visible. A spotlight is an attention aid, not a way to remove passwords, personal details, or confidential text.
