Make your first recording

Choose a source, record a short take, edit it, and save a video.

These guides cover the development build shown on this site. Some controls may differ in the published installer. Check your version in Settings and the download notes.

Before you start

Close private tabs, hide notifications, and check what will be visible. Enable the microphone or camera only if you need it, and select the correct device. Record a short test before a long session.

Record a take

1. Choose Full screen, Window, or Custom region in the recording launcher.
2. Select the display or window, or draw the region. Review the source before starting.
3. Press the recording button and wait for the countdown. Use the recording controls or the displayed stop shortcut when finished.
4. Wait for the take to open in the editor. Play it back and check picture and sound.

Make a simple edit

Move the playhead to an unwanted section and use Split. Select the section to remove, then Delete. Add a zoom or background where it helps the viewer. Undo if you remove the wrong item.

Save the project and video

Press Ctrl + S to save your editable project. Use Export to create a separate video for sharing. Keep the project folder if you want to change the edit later; an exported video is not an editable project.

If your screen looks different

The website footage shows a development build. Check your version in Settings and compare it with the published download. A feature shown on the website may not yet be in that installer.
