Open the Caption panel and generate captions automatically from your recording's audio. The speech-to-text model runs entirely on your own device — your audio is never sent to a server to produce captions. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture on what does and doesn't leave your machine.

Editing captions

Adjust the wording or timing of any generated caption, or write your own from scratch if you'd rather skip auto-generation entirely.

Styling

Choose caption size, position (top, center, bottom), and whether a background band appears behind the text for readability over busy footage.

SRT import & export

Import an existing .srt subtitle file to use as your captions, or export your captions as .srt to use elsewhere.
